Ganhaarr Gallery
Showcases the colours and culture of Aboriginal art, defining ancient knowledge with artistic expression and symbolic storytelling

'GANHAARR' meaning Crocodile in the Guugu Yimidhirr language of Far North Queensland

Artist and Founder Ellen McIvor was inspired by the traditional story of a young woman who left her tribe to seek a more fulfilling life resulting in her falling in love with a crocodile, and their children shapeshifting between crocodile and human, establishing the ancient appreciation and connection of crocodiles with Aboriginal people.
